Cheryl Collins Aparo RDO, NCLC
Store owner Cheryl Collins Aparo opened Ocean Optical with a
commitment to customer service and the optical profession. She
knows the families of her patients well, and is now fitting
eyeglasses for some of her customers' children. "It is nice to know
that people know and trust me to work with their kids!" she says.
Cheryl's commitment to service extends beyond Ocean Optical to
the Gloucester, MA community. She has served on the board of the
Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce and she is an active Rotarian.
Cheryl lives in Rockport, MA with her husband, Daniel and their
children Alex and Katie.
Dr. Charlene DuBois Glynn
Dr. Charlene DuBois Glynn is a graduate of the New England
College of Optometry in Boston and Binghamton University in New
York. Dr. Glynn distinguished herself for superior patient care by
graduating with honors in primary care, pediatrics, and contact
lenses.
She completed her residency training at Kittery Optometric
Associates in Maine while teaching at the New England College of
Optometry. Her teaching involved providing eye care at homeless
shelters and nursing homes in Boston with the students. She is a
member of the American Optometric Association and the
Massachusetts Society of Optometrists. Dr. Glynn is also a
member of the Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce.
Outside of the office, Dr. Glynn enjoys traveling, cooking (or at least
watching the cooking channel) and spending time with her best
friend and husband Sean Glynn and their two daughters Riley and
Piper.
George Sherman RDO
A Magnolia, MA resident since 1969, George has many years of
experience in the optical field. He was formerly employed for
several years with Pearle Vision and Parelli Optical in Danvers, MA.
George is a past president of the Magnolia Lions, an organization
which advocates eye research. George was instrumental in
acquiring an optilec machine for the Sawyer Free Library. Optilec is
a tool used to help the visually impaired enjoy books.
Husband to Maureen, an RN formerly of Addison Gilbert Hospital,
they have three children, Hannah, Molly and Corey.
In his spare time George is an avid boater and fisherman.
Marie Mondello RDO, ABO
Marie Mondello joined the staff of Ocean Optical five years ago as a
receptionist. Shortly thereafter she joined the optician's apprentice
program, passed her state boards and is now a licensed optician.
In her free time she enjoys being with her family and friends.
Please congratulate Marie on her success when you come into the
office!
Maria Pereira
Maria Pereira joined the Ocean Optical team in January 2006 after
twenty years in the banking industry.
Maria is fluent in Portuguese and has a wonderful sense of style.
She keeps our office looking sensational, changing our displays
from season to season.
Maria is responsible for buying frames and keeping our inventory up
to date with all the latest styles and colors.
Maria lives in Magnolia with her husband Tony and her two boys
Danny and Jacob.
